Incoming subtitles and spoken translation

You can read the other person's translated reply on screen, listen to it aloud, or use both options together.

Reading the translated reply aloud has its own setting. If subtitles appear but you hear nothing, check that setting and your speakers.

What to do

  1. 1

    Enable incoming audio capture

Turn on incoming translation in the session settings. In the extension, use the switch on the call-page panel.

  2. 2

Choose automatic detection or a language

Automatic detection can switch among 10 common languages. If you know what the other person will speak, choose it yourself from all 58 languages.

  3. 3

Let Loquora read the reply aloud

Turn on the voice option and choose a voice. You can keep subtitles on at the same time.

  4. 4

    Check your speakers

Spoken translation should play through normal speakers or a headset, never through the virtual microphone.

Good to know

  • Automatic detection can switch among 10 supported languages without restarting the call.
  • Use subtitles when you need silence, or let Loquora read the translation when you do not want to look at the screen.
